(@PratapRughani) Dr Pratap Rughani is a documentary film maker, Reader in Film and member of the Transnational Art & Identity Research Centre (TrAIN) at the University of the Arts, London.
Much of his early documentary practice is in narrative documentary modes, with twenty-five films for BBC 2 and Channel 4. More recent films are exhibited in festival and gallery contexts for British Council or research-supported commissions for spaces such as Modern Art Oxford, UCLA Fowler Museum (Los Angeles) and Galerie Polaris, Paris.
Pratap combines critical and theoretical writing on significant developments in film and documentary studies with written several book chapters, in academic and journalistic modes. He is Deputy Chair of the UAL Professoriate and of the UK’s National Teaching Fellows Association.
